When the Police fail to protect
whom do they serve?
A selfrighteous vendetta and some black bodies to purge.
when the Police fail to protect us
whose children do we weep for?
The playgrounds are empty,
there’s blood on the sesaw.
Skittles in his pocket,
no weapons can be seen.
One is a victim,
the other hands are unclean.
Yet the common news headline?
Another Dead Black Teen.
When Police fail to protect us
whom do they serve?
What message do we send to our young boys and young girls?
When Tyrone ran from the cops it wasn’t beacause he was guilty.
When Kesha ran from the cops it wasn’t because she was guilty.
When these two were asked why,
your heart would have trembled,
your eyes would have cried.
Tyrone you ran,
yet you say you’re not guilty,
Kesha you ran,
yet you say you’re not guilty.
” Your honor,
I ran because officer so and so would have killed me”
“Guns aimed before I can even say…”
Are these the words our young children should speak?
When in times of need they are more afraid of the Police?
Are these the civil servants our communities need?
When the Police fail to protect us…
then we need new Peace.
Who Police the Police?
