People like you and I
don’t shed tears.
We give in to our addictions.
The afflictions,
ambitious, fear.
Becoming ammunition for years.
These words set us free,
We were once locked in a cage,
ashamed and afraid.
In pain.
We’ve learned to control the rage.
We’ve learned something from…
their hate.
We’ve learned their lies are the same.
So thank you for your love,
your courage to not be led astray.
Our poems are what makes life
