4am In Toronto

Sleep,
Slowly leaving every entity powerless.
I stumble out of modern conscientiousness,
I am drifting awake…
Imagine, just for one moment my life was everything I dreamed
I am living a fantasy I would be a cosmic being.

Sleep,
Stepping lightly eluding emotion-less pain.
Growing fond of the fact that I stay dry when it rains.
And it’s pouring where I stand,
the electric shock makes one million strands stand on end.
And now, I’m flying. I am not bound to this realm,
tumbling up, I finally reach outer space.

Sleep,
I close my eyes as the cold breeze washes my face.
I imagine the stars,
open my eyes, and they are not so far from reach.
I point to one and my body starts to speed.
Towards the star that I call…
Sleep.
